Kaggalipura – again one of the awesome place for birding and to watch nature beauty. Here are some of the birds, butterflies and flowers. For direction, please see the Place section of BangaloreCaptured.com.
It is more than 4-5 kms of walk.
Chandu, my birding partner came home on Wednesday night with an excitement that we will go somewhere tomorrow. Yes, it was holiday but I was tired. Tough to peruse him and we decided to go all time favorite Valley School. Reaching around 6.30 AM, again a cloudy morning. Decreased our chances of butterflies and even birds. Though I put camera on a high ISO and said “lets take whatever is coming on the way”.
Deepu and Chandu searching insect, butterfly, bird and anything whatsoever was available. Most of the pictures will have a high noise but I want to share our work for the day and yes reporting is important.
Thanks to Deepu for most of the butterflies picture and Chandu for searching birds.
Last but not the least
[I guess this is a old dialogue now], new chaps of birding :
Cubbon Park is in the center of the city. Expecting it to provide a flora and fauna of jungle kind is not possible. I roam around 2- days near this park and I believe it has lot of potential. Here I am going to post some of the pictures near Cubbon Park.
After two awesome posts by Prathima and Priyanka, there is not much to write about Lalbagh flower show. But on the base line, I will say everyone should see it, specially for children and one who has interest in nature.
Moving forward, I can see the crowd and excitement in people towards flower show.

One more flavor of Peruvian Lily. A true color of nature and this species exists in 90-120 colors across the globe.
Here is the red color flavor of the same.

It was my 16th visit of Ragihalli, whenever I saw that place I see one small lake in Ragihalli but never able to locate this. The secret got opened when Deepa revealed the location of secret lake which was just a wow place for birding.
Who welcomed us – White lotus… My first view of white lotus in Life. It was again a cloudy day and the life-cycle of nature didn’t revealed lot of birds for us, though we were hearing tremendous of it. Putting the cruel mind of photographer apart, I felt very happy in the paradise.
Swallows were running here and there and then I saw them finally sitting. It was a delight to see the juvenile swallow too.
And then suddenly so many bee-eaters will come and sat near you. You will get confuse whom to take
.

Glass house is filled with lots of beautiful flowers like Roses, Cosmos, Impatiens basin, group of annuals, Candytuft, Statice, Torenia, Dahlias and many others.
Flowers were arranged in artistic way in the form of Butterfly, Wheels etc. Indian flag made using 4kgand 500 grands of rice grabs your attention.
Many stalls have been put up where you can buy manures, jute items, jewellery, books etc. There is an exhibition of different spices, vegetables, fruits with information regarding export etc, this is organized by Department of Horticulture.
I felt it very ashamed that there is no public website or information place where I can get to know about the flowers of Lalbagh. I have here given a try to name some of it. Flowers are, no doubt, the most beautiful gift that nature has created for us. Lalbagh is known for it’s flower variety.
One of the most lovely looking flower – Grand Crinum Lily.
A big attraction for all the bees and butterflies. Here goes the Orange Cosmos:
One of the best flowers for viewer at Lalbagh, covering the road at both the way.
You can see at the starting of the Lalbagh gate, many flowers belong to Sunflower family. Here are one called Black-Eyed Susan.
Some more flowers are waiting for you to take your attention. Not all of them you will see throughout the year.
What else, the post will not finish and I will keep on posting the flowers of Lalbagh. In this post, I have not written the interesting facts about these flower. So, I will soon post Part 2, where we will have some more insight. At last, known by everyone, Lalbagh has a dedicated Rose Garden. Some of the flowers from Rose garden for you

One more to add
. This flower got a beautiful fragrance. A small boy came near me and told look at the fragrance. It was WOW
.
One of the most beautiful period of Lalbagh is flower show time. Though I hate it because they charge Rs. 40 for ticket which is in general day Rs. 10. Lets have a flower walk with the rose garden of Lalbagh, most of the time this garden doesn’t have anything
.

And many other colorful flowers to see and enjoy. I don’t like people plucking flowers, and I guess its our responsibility too to stop such kind of happening.

Petunias
I enjoyed the Ferel Pigeon flight. They are interesting in flight and create a nice sound. Love to see how randomly they start flying due to sudden sound and align themselves quick in one direction.

And something which every kid like and I like it still even I can’t claim myself a kid. Balloons and making bubbles with Soap liquid foams. This seller was confident that he would sell all the balloons, so pumping new one.

We all have at least one time experience of roaming on empty road at 4 or 5 AM. At that time we think that whole of the city is sleeping and I am walking on so called in a lovely dawn(or even before). No, that’s not right. I will show you a market which start after midnight and close before sunrise. That’s the KR market of Bangalore. KR market is famous for flower selling and one of the oldest markets in Bangalore.
When I reached here at 4 AM, this market was over-crowded unlike any other markets. Mostly small buyers were getting the stuff from bigger buyers. People were all around busy, running here and there. Tea stalls were all open(that was a good relief for me
).
Loved to see that work was happening on such a fast rate. Slowly big buyers were moving out after finished off their job. Though they sell flower whole day there only. Some small buyers were also leaving the place. Probably spreading themselves into the city.
FYI, Wiki Information: It is named after Sri Krishnarajendra Wodeyar the former ruler of the princely state of Mysore. Its the first locality in the whole of Asia to get Electricity.
