This was our 3rd Sunday outing with bngbirds team.
One of the most exciting birding. While going to the place, Sushil has taken from some inside road. He told me that he saw black shouldered kite here many times. So, we got little conscious in driving.
While driving, we saw that beautiful moon(which was supposed to be the closest to earth). Meanwhile, some guys asked us “what happened to last night match” .. Yes, Pakistan won the match.
On a single tree, we spotted Golden Oriole, White cheeked Barbet, Coppersmith Barbet and Great tit.
Moving forward towards the lake side, we have witnessed some of the classical view where Pied Kingfisher was hovering and searching for prey. A black kite was chasing short-toed snake eagle.
O yes, again a treasure tree. We spotted Small Minivet, Cuckoo shrike, Indian Roller, Jungle Myna, Common Myna, Indian Roller and White throated Kingfisher.
O man, this is my favorite. I never knew that Juvenile Red Whiskered Bulbul don’t have red spot at head. Just awesome to watch and listen Red whiskered Juvenile bulbul.
And the paradise of all. Asian Paradise Flycatcher – Just saw her existence for a second. Sushil chasing long to the greater Coucal from its highly confusing sound. Finally we spotted her sitting on a tree. And like always jumping from one tree to another.
Now, this is the beauty we witnessed first time. Asian Brown Flycatcher. A million dollar eyes. A very small bird, flying and sitting on the same branch of a tree.

Absolutely stunning photos — my favorites are the kingfishers.
Thank you for sharing these on your blog … and congrats on being Freshly Pressed. That’s quite an honor!
thanks a lot.
Beautiful. Birds are something, aren’t they? We are surrounded by chicken hawks and pheasant and turkeys and white owls over here, and love to see them in motion. Even if my small dogs need to run for cover! Thank you for sharing your lovely photos.
I agree with you .. thank you
Thanks for such a wonderful, enraptured collection of images. It brought back to me a series of beautiful memories of birdwatching around Bangalore and other parts of southern India many years ago. And like you, my glimpse of a female paradise flycatcher was brief, but ecstatic. The richness of India’s flora and fauna never fails to amaze me, and you’ve chronicled some of its colour marvelously here….it’s good to know it’s still there. Many thanks for the bright joy you’ve brought to my afternoon!
yes, we also got excited to see flycatcher
… thanks a lot

Really stunning photographs. Having you around meant that I could concentrate on showing others the birds and not bother at all about the photography, I knew you’ll get great captures! Thank you so much. See you next week at Sarjapura!
Deepa, having him around also means exploration of new areas
Thank you Deepa for this comment. I am just trying to take pictures with a dumbbell weight lens.

thank you ..
This is very timely because I’m so still not over lamenting from my failure to join my hiking buddies for a “birdwatching” activity at the North Part of our country. However, reading this post cut the cord conjunct to the first sentence. I’ve seen more than enough of those flying creatures here than to my buddies’ respective folders from their birdwatching three days ago.
THE PHOTOS ARE, BEYOND QUESTION, AWE-INSPIRING!
O thats a great news. Get started your bird watching and do share the pictures.

I live in Bangalore and did not know that there are such wonderful species around our city.
Where exactly is this place?
Ah yes, we have lovely place around Bangalore. This is around 5-6 Km far from Bannerghata national park area. Actually that area has tons of place to enjoy bird watching.
Now i understood why people love bird watching, it is so soothing and beautiful…. amazing!!!
Glad to know that…
hi
Very attractive and gorgeous photos of birds.
They really are adorable one. And among birds of prey the female is the larger.
And as what my grandmother had used to told me before that Bird’s songs are composed of love-notes and pleasure-notes. We speak of the scream of birds, their chirp, expressions of joy or fear, as in the human voice.
thank you
Vaibhav,
Really excellent shots, so much of life so much of nature included in all those. I like birds and couldn’t stop myself by not conveying my compliments. Which DSLR are you using?
Good Regards
Jithu
thank you Jithu. Its a canon 1000D + 400mm 4.5f lens.
Gorgeous photographs!! Pied Kingfisher looks great – even prettier when hovering for food… and so does Asian Paradise flycatcher…
The juvenile Bulbul is cute. I think all baby birds and animals do.
